Mercedes Benz is going to reveal new generation CLS next month at Los Angeles Auto Show. The company has began production of new CLS. Autocar was invited for a passenger on production CLS trial cars to get an experience of the sedan. The CLS bridges gap between E Class and bigger S Class in Mercedes lineup. Mercedes CLS is based on MRA rear wheel drive platform and shares lots of components with E Class and S Class. The interior of CLS shares design and features with S Class and E Class like Widescreen Cockpit, ambient lighting and more.
The four door coupe is powered by 2.0 four cylinder diesel engine with 241 HP and 281 HP, the 3.0 L inline six diesel engine produces 335 HP. The 3.0 L petrol engine get electric assist to produce 362 HP of power. Like we reported earlier, AMG version get new engines with electric motors for more power. The CLS get passive steel suspension with 18 inch wheels as standard and 19 inch as optional. Even though this set-up is shared from E Class, Mercedes engineers have tuned the suspension for sporty driving. More details of CLS will be revealed next month.
