Mercedes Benz started testing GLE in India ahead of its official market debut

The ongoing GLE SUV in India is a generation back to its international counter part. Now Mercedes-Benz India has started testing their latest generation of GLE(V167) in India for sake of its debut in Indian market by the end of this year or by early 2020.

It is also said that for the first time, their will be an option for a 7-seat layout for the upcoming GLE. Moreover, in the current era of electrification the Hybrid variant will be also on the bucket list.

Mercedes will also retained their Diesel variant with the BS VI compliant engines. the diesel motors will be most probably the 3-liter, inline-6, turbocharged engine with 362 hp and 2-liter 4-cylinder engine with 255 hp.The petrol variant would be the 3.0-litre, in-line 6-cylinder engine that makes 367hp. The AMG iteration is also expected, but some time after the initial launch.In terms of gear box, all the variants expected to get the 9-G tronic Automatic transmission.

Like the previous model, the GLE will have the option of 2 suspension setups: the coil spring one and Pneumatically controlled ‘Airmatic’ suspension system. The interior layout will be same as the international variant, however we need to wait a while to get know about the India bound feature packages.

In terms of features and technology the new GLE is ahead of its predecessor.The pricing of new GLE in India is expected around 70-90 lakhs and hope that Mercedes Benz India will soon hit their latest generation GLE on Indian roads.
