Skoda Auto India has officially unveiled the updated Kushaq, introducing significant mechanical upgrades and segment-first comfort features to its mid-size SUV. This refresh marks the most substantial update to the vehicle since its 2021 debut under the “India 2.0” strategy.
The most notable technical shift is the introduction of a segment-first eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission paired with the 1.0 TSI engine. This engine produces 113.42 hp (115 PS) and 178 Nm of torque and remains available with a six-speed manual gearbox.
For the higher-performance 1.5 TSI variant (147.94 hp/150 PS and 250 Nm), Skoda continues to offer the seven-speed DSG automatic. A critical hardware update for the 1.5 TSI model is the addition of disc brakes on all four wheels, improving stopping power over the previous front-disc/rear-drum setup. The 1.5 TSI engine also retains Active Cylinder Technology (ACT) for optimized fuel efficiency during low-load conditions.
The 2026 Kushaq adopts Skoda’s “Modern Solid” design language. Key visual changes include:
The cabin receives a significant technology overhaul, led by a 10.1-inch infotainment system integrated with a Google Automotive AI agent. This system brings Gemini AI into the vehicle, allowing for context-aware voice commands and real-time news updates. The voice assistant is specifically tuned to recognize Indian English accents.
In a first for the segment, the Kushaq now offers a rear-seat massage function. Other interior highlights include:
The Kushaq maintains its 5-star Global NCAP safety rating. Skoda has standardized several high-value features across the entire range, including the base variant.
Pre-bookings are now open on Skoda Auto India’s website for a token amount of ₹15,000, with deliveries scheduled to begin by the end of March 2026.
The vehicle comes with the Skoda Super Care package, which includes a 4-year/100,000-km warranty (extendable to six years), 4 years of roadside assistance, and 4 labor-free services.
