IDEMITSU Honda Racing India Team returns Chennai for INMRC Round 3.

Chennai, August 1, 2019: The heat is on as IDEMITSU Honda Racing India Team eyes for the Championship victory in the second half of 2019 MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship. With Round 3 kicking off tomorrow at the Madras Motor Race Track, 37 riders will race on Honda machines in the 2 classes of national championship and IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup classes.

Leading Honda’s charge in Round 3 are 18 riders in 2 classes of National Championship – ProStock 201-300cc & ProStock 165cc. The top guns include Rajiv Sethu, Sarath Kumar, Anish D Shetty and Abhishek V. Meanwhile, the IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup (NSF250R & CBR150R classes)will see 19 young riders identified by Honda return back to the hallowed MMRT.

Speaking on Round 3, Mr. Prabhu Nagaraj, Vice President – Brand and Communications, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “Honda riders have showed their mettle in the first 2 rounds of the national championship. Now as the championship hits midway, our riders will extend their dominance in the PS165cc and PS201-300cc categories. The IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup is becoming the center of attention. Our focus is equally on structural development of next-gen Indian riders, who are riding on Honda’s legendry Moto3 machine NSF250R. We are proud to see emerging riders like Varoon S, Kavin Quintal, Lal Nunsanga and Lalrinzuala Tlau challenge themselves and improve their race craft in each round.”

INMRC – ProStock 165cc and ProStock 201-300cc

Aiming to expand leadership in national championship, the IDEMITSU Honda Ten10 Racing Team is toping the chart with 8 podium finishes in PS165cc and PS201-300cc classes.

It‘s a double podium for Honda. Sarath Kumar and Rajiv Sethu points tally put them on 2nd & 3rd position after the 2 rounds of championship so far. Entering the championship in Round 2 itself, Honda’s ace rider Rajiv notched back-to-back wins in both races of round 2 while Sarath too has 2 podium finishes including 1 win to his credit. With 141 points, IDEMITSU Honda Ten10 Racing Team leads the PS165cc championship.

After the inaugural round of PS201-300cc category, IDEMITSU Honda Ten10 Racing team enters this round with 10 points lead. Honda’s Anish Shetty is just 3 points away from leader Mathana Kumar of Erula Racing. Backing up Anish in the category is Bengaluru boy Abhishek V. With 1 podium finish in his name, Abhishek is currently 3rd in the championship.

IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup – NSF250R & CBR150R

It is going to be a spectacular weekend of racing as 19 young guns aged 12-19 are all set to show the might of next gen on track in IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup.8 shortlisted riders will continue to race in the NSF250R class.

Challenging the leader Varoon S will be frontrunners of the championship Kavin Quintal and Md. Mikail and giving them stiff competition will be Charan T, Geoffrey, Mohsin, Kritik Habib and Sarthak.

Meanwhile, leading the scoreboard in the 11 rider grid of CBR150R class are the Aizawl duo of Lalrinuala Tlau and Lal Nunsang along with 19-year-old Samuel Martin from Bengaluru.
