Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has achieved a major milestone by opening India’s largest in-plant automobile railway siding at its Manesar factory. The new facility was inaugurated by Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon’ble Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, Electronics & Information Technology, along with Shri Nayab Singh Saini, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana.

This railway siding is part of the larger Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor (HORC), a 126-kilometer railway line that connects Sonipat to Palwal in Haryana. The project falls under the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan, which aims to improve India’s infrastructure and boost economic growth. The Haryana Orbital Rail Corporation Ltd (HORCL), a joint venture company, executed the project.
Maruti Suzuki has played a significant role by investing ₹325 crore in the HORC project and an additional ₹127 crore to develop the railway yard inside its Manesar plant. In total, the company has invested around ₹452 crore to make this project a reality.

The new railway siding will help Maruti Suzuki transport vehicles more efficiently, reduce road congestion, lower carbon emissions, and support faster deliveries to customers across the country.
