Renault has officially revealed the all-new Boreal SUV, a larger 7-seater version of the Duster, set to launch in India by 2026. Designed for markets outside Europe, the Boreal is built on Renault’s flexible Kardian platform, which supports a variety of body styles and powertrains.

The Renault Boreal measures over 4.5 meters in length and 1.84 meters in width, with a generous 2700 mm wheelbase, giving it plenty of cabin space. The design features short overhangs for better interior room and rugged proportions.

Standout exterior elements include:

  • A body-colored grille with a glowing NouvelR logo
  • Sleek LED headlights that stretch into the front fenders
  • Stylish 19-inch alloy wheels

Inside, the Boreal gets a modern and tech-rich cabin that’s made to impress:

  • Twin 10-inch screens merged into a single digital display setup
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Dual-zone climate control
  • 48-color ambient lighting
  • Electrically adjustable front seats with memory and massage for the driver
  • Harman Kardon premium sound system
  • Built-in Google integration for navigation, voice assistant, and apps

Upholstery options vary by market: Cool Grey for Turkey and Blue for Latin America, both with stylish contrast stitching.

Under the Hood:

Powering the Boreal is a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine, available in both standard petrol and flex-fuel versions depending on the market. It delivers:

  • Up to 160 bhp
  • 270 Nm of peak torque
  • Paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission
  • 0-100 km/h in 9.6 seconds

India Launch Expected in 2026

Renault plans to bring the Boreal to India as part of its new SUV lineup expansion in the C-segment, where it will compete with 7-seaters like the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, and Mahindra XUV700.
