MG has yet again introduced a facelift for their SUV Hector. Hector launched in 2019 debuted the MG brand for all Indians, now after for the second time Hector is getting a facelift, more features and major introductory price cut. Let’s dive deep to the 2026 MG Hector. 

What’s New on the MG Hector?

The 2026 facelift features a new “Aura Hex” grille pattern, which now consists of a larger chrome design compared to the previous chrome diamond pattern. Below it has a revised bumper pattern. Coming to the side, the 2026 Hector carries a much safer alloy wheel design. The new alloy design hides the lug nuts and can conceals the lug nuts and can only be accessed with proprietary tools, there by only be accessible with proprietary tools hence protecting it from theft. These kinds of alloy wheels are a first in this segment. The rear also continues the revised bumper design, omitting the previous faux exhaust tip design. The Hector now also has two new shades, namely the Celadon Blue and Pearl White. 

Coming to the Interiors the 2026 MG Hector gets a new Dual Tone Ice Grey interior and the Hector Plus now sports a lighter Dual Tone Urban Tan interior. The centre console also gets a new carbon-fibre like piano black finish. 

Tech upgrades include new swipe gestures, which means that, since it is a large touchscreen, there are complaints about the lack of physical buttons, and MG also knows this. so now they are saying you can control your music and a/c without taking your eyes off the road. How? M or three fingers for music, swipe anywhere up or down to control volume and left or right for stations. A or two fingers for a/c, swipe anywhere up or down for temperature and left or right for fan speed. Besides now the infotainment is upgraded to 10 GB of RAM,. 

Interestingly the manufacturer has removed the auto-turn indicator feature on the Hector which was introduced on the previous facelift. 

What’s not new on the MG Hector?

The powertrain of the SUV remains unchanged for 2026. Hector and Hector Plus available engine options include a 1.5L Turbo Petrol, delivering 143 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, paired with a choice of Manual or CVT transmission. Alternatively, a 2.0L Turbo Diesel is offered, producing 170 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, exclusively with a Manual transmission.

What’s the New Price of the MG Hector?

MG Hector gets a Rs 2 lakh price cut, from Rs 14 lakh ex-showroom to Rs 12 lakh ex-showroom for a limited time. Only the introductory prices of petrol variants have been announced yet. 2026 MG Hector introductory prices start at ₹12 lakh and go up to ₹19 lakh, and Hector Plus prices start at ₹17.29 lakh and go up to ₹19.49 lakh.
