The win marks the F1 race victory of Antonelli’s career and continues Merc’s strong start to the season.
Mercedes in Strong Form
Russell finished second after staying close to his teammate for much of the race. Although he remained within range during the middle stages, Antonelli maintained track position and controlled the gap until the finish.
The result gives Merc a strong position in both drivers’ and constructors’ standings.
Hamilton Secures First Ferrari Podium
Sir Lewis Hamilton finished third to secure his first podium since joining Scuderia Ferrari.
Hamilton completed a consistent race and finished ahead of teammate Charles Leclerc, who crossed the line in fourth place.
Both Ferrari drivers showed strong might, with Hamilton and Leclerc involved in a brief cat-and-mouse exchange during the race.
McLaren Car Fails to Start
It was a difficult weekend for the McLaren Formula 1 Team, as both Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri were unable to start the race due to technical issues.
Given Piastri’s DNF at the previous Australian GP, the season start looks tough for the team.
Gap for the Underdogs
Oliver Bearman finished fifth for the Haas F1 Team, securing one of the team’s strongest results this season.
