Mahindra Racing secured a major comeback victory in Formula E after Nyck de Vries won the 2026 Monaco E-Prix on Saturday.

The result gave Mahindra Racing:

  • Its first Formula E win since the 2021 London E-Prix
  • Its first victory in the Gen3 Formula E era

Strong Qualifying Set Up the Race

De Vries started the race from second on the grid after narrowly missing pole position to Dan Ticktum during the final qualifying duel.

On his way to the front row, the Dutch driver defeated Antonio Felix da Costa and Mitch Evans in the knockout stages.

Huge Result for Mahindra Racing

The Monaco victory also helped Mahindra Racing remain third in the Teams’ Championship while reducing the gap to the leading teams after outscoring its main rivals across the weekend.

Tough Race for Mortara

It was a much more difficult race for Mahindra teammate Edoardo Mortara.

A mechanical issue during qualifying forced him to start from 19th place because parc ferme rules prevented the team from fully repairing the problem before the race.

Although Mortara fought back into the top 10 during the race, a late puncture eventually dropped him down to 17th at the finish.

Despite that setback, Mortara still holds third place in the Drivers’ Championship standings.

Emotional Win for the Team

After the race, de Vries described the victory as especially meaningful because Monaco is effectively his home race. He also said the result felt like an important reward for the team after a difficult start to the season.

Mahindra Racing Team Principal Frederic Bertrand called the victory a major moment for the team and thanked fans in India for their support.

For India’s Motorsport

Mahindra Racing winning in Monaco gives Indian motorsport one of its biggest international racing moments in recent years. Formula E has become one of the world’s fastest-growing racing championships, and a victory on the streets of Monaco carries massive global attention.
