Toyota Gazoo Racing has unveiled the GRMN Corolla, a more focused and track-oriented version of the already impressive Toyota GR Corolla.

Developed with extensive testing at the Nürburgring and shaped by Toyota’s motorsport experience, the GRMN Corolla represents the brand’s vision of the ultimate driver’s Corolla.

Built for Enthusiasts

Toyota says the GRMN Corolla was born from Chairman Akio Toyoda’s desire to create a Corolla that genuinely excites drivers. To achieve that goal, engineers spent countless hours refining the car on Germany’s Nürburgring, one of the world’s toughest race circuits.

The result is a machine designed to feel more connected, more responsive and more rewarding when driven hard.

More Performance, Less Weight

Under the bonnet is the familiar 1.6-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine, but Toyota has increased torque to 415 Nm, up from 400 Nm in the standard GR Corolla.

To improve performance further, the company removed the rear seats and made extensive use of lightweight materials, helping reduce weight by 30 kg.

Key Specifications

  • Engine: 1.6-litre turbocharged three-cylinder
  • Power: 304 hp
  • Torque: 415 Nm
  • Transmission: 6-speed manual
  • Drivetrain: GR-FOUR all-wheel drive
  • Weight: 1,450 kg
  • Seating capacity: 2

Track-Focused Upgrades

To make the GRMN Corolla sharper and more capable on track, Toyota has equipped it with several motorsport-inspired upgrades, including:

  • Carbon-fibre bonnet and front fenders
  • Adjustable carbon-fibre rear wing
  • Carbon-fibre front side spoilers
  • Wider Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres
  • Exclusive Nürburgring-tuned suspension setup
  • Upgraded cooling with an intercooler spray system
  • Lightweight bucket seats designed for improved support during aggressive driving

Toyota says these changes improve grip, stability and driver confidence, while also making the car feel more connected and responsive at high speeds.

Limited Numbers Planned

Toyota plans to sell the GRMN Corolla in limited numbers across Japan, North America and Australia from 2027 onwards. While there’s no word on an India launch, the GRMN Corolla shows just how far Toyota is willing to push the humble Corolla in pursuit of driving excitement.
