The IAA Transportation 2026 has recognised some of the biggest innovations in the commercial vehicle industry through its annual Stars of the Year Awards. The awards were presented on Press Day in Hannover across trucks, vans, technology and trailers.

Volvo Trucks took the biggest prize, with its new electric truck range being named International Truck of the Year 2027. ZF, Renault and several trailer manufacturers also picked up awards across different categories.
Volvo Trucks Wins Truck of the Year
Volvo Trucks’ new electric range has won the International Truck of the Year 2027 award. The range includes the FH, FM, FMX and FH Aero Electric families.

The jury highlighted:
- Longer driving range
- High energy efficiency
- Wide range of applications
- Greater operational flexibility
ZF Wins Truck Innovation Award
ZF received the Truck Innovation Award 2027 for its TraXon Hybrid technology. The system integrates hybrid technology directly into the transmission architecture of heavy commercial vehicles.
It is designed to help reduce fuel consumption and Carbon emissions, while using ZF’s existing heavy-duty transmission platform.
Renault Trafic E-Tech Wins Van Award
The fourth-generation Renault Trafic E-Tech Electric has been named International Van of the Year 2027.

The jury recognised its focus on:
- Efficiency
- Safety
- Environmental performance
- Sustainability
The Stellantis ProOne Compact Van finished second, while the Farizon V7E and Volkswagen Caddy Cargo shared third place.
Five Trailer Award Categories
The International Trailer Award 2027 recognised innovations across five categories:
- Body: Schmitz Cargobull S.KO CITY
- Chassis: Kogel LIGHT PLUS
- Components: Kassbohrer Modular Floor System K.MFS
- Future: Krone TrAIler Health Monitoring System
- Community: Koluman Adaptive Hidden Sidewall Platform Trailer
