Renault has unveiled the 8 Gordini Concept, reimagining the iconic rear-wheel-drive Renault 8 Gordini as a two-seat electric coupe. The one-off concept combines motorsport-inspired styling with a 270 hp electric motor and a low, wide stance.
The concept is part of Renault’s ongoing effort to reinterpret models from its 128-year history. It will be displayed at the Renault stand during the Paris Motor Show from October 12 to 18, 2026, before eventually joining the brand’s future Renault Collections museum in Flins.
Modern Take on a Motorsport Icon
The original Renault 8 Gordini arrived in 1964 with a 95 hp rear-mounted engine and rear-wheel drive, becoming a popular performance and driver-training car.
The new concept retains several visual references while adopting radically different proportions. Measuring 4.12 metres long, 1.88 metres wide and 1.27 metres tall, it features 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels.

Gordini Design, Reworked
More than 300 sketches were submitted by Renault designers before two proposals were developed into scale models. The final design incorporates the original car’s squared-off wheel arches, recessed waistline, shell-shaped mirrors and six-headlight arrangement.
The iconic double white Gordini stripe has also been reinterpreted as a structural design element, extending from the exterior into the cabin.
The concept uses a modern interpretation of the original Bleu de France paint, with a three-layer finish designed to create greater depth.
Minimalist Cabin
Inside, the concept combines brushed aluminium and Alcantara, with digital circular displays inspired by the original Renault 8’s analogue dials.
Blue corduroy inserts feature on the bucket seats, while a red dot on the central stopwatch button provides the main contrasting detail.
