Tata Motors and Iveco Group have formally come together to create a global commercial mobility enterprise, combining their strengths across commercial vehicles, buses and powertrain technologies.
The announcement was made at a global press meet in Turin, Italy, on November 3, 2026. The combined enterprise will have a presence in over 130 countries, with annual sales of approximately 590,000 vehicles and combined revenues of around €21 billion (over ₹2.28 lakh crore).
The new organisation will rank fourth globally among commercial vehicle manufacturers in the above-six-tonne segment by truck sales volume.
A Global Commercial Vehicle Network
The combined business will operate across Europe, India, South America, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Its global network includes:
- 27 manufacturing sites
- 25 research and development centres
- Over 9,300 sales and service centres
- More than 73,000 employees across six continents
Tata Motors brings its commercial vehicle portfolio, ranging from sub-one-tonne vehicles to 55-tonne trucks, along with buses offering seating for 10 to 51 passengers. Iveco adds its light, medium and heavy commercial vehicles, city and intercity buses, and FPT’s powertrain business.
Focus on Future Technologies
The partnership will combine expertise in conventional combustion engines, natural gas, battery-electric vehicles, hydrogen and other low-emission technologies.
Both companies aim to use their combined engineering, manufacturing and technology capabilities to accelerate product development and expand their reach across international markets.
Brands to Retain Their Identity
Iveco Group will continue to be headquartered in Turin, Italy, with its brands, teams and industrial operations retaining their existing identities. Tata Motors will support Iveco’s existing strategy and investment plans while the two companies explore opportunities to work together.
