All the novelties from the Mondial Paris Auto Show.

The Paris Motor Show is changing yearly with the IAA in the autumn of the “even” years (ie 2014, 2016, 2018, etc.) on the auto show calendar. The “Mondial de l’Automobile”, the official title of the fair, is the first car exhibition of international character.

In 1898 it was first opened on the “Terrace of the Jardin des Tuileries” and attracted about 140,000 visitors with 232 vehicles. 110 years later, in autumn 2008, 1,432,972 visitors were counted at the Paris Motor Show, a new visitor record in the exhibition halls.

The Paris Motor Show is not only a “home game” for French car manufacturers such as Citroën, Peugeot and Renault. The German, Asian and American car makers also regularly show their premieres to an international audience. Thus, the gasoline motor car of the German engineers Karl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler from the beginning were represented at the Paris Motor Show.

The Paris 2018 Motor Show also remains true to this tradition. Mercedes shows the new B-Class, Porsche presents the 911 of the 992 series. BMW brings the Z4 to the Seine and of Audi, the A1 and various other new models may be seen.

However, the importance of auto-fairs is currently falling sharply. Some car manufacturers present their innovations during the year at their own events, so that they are issued at auto fairs only as public premieres.
