Ather Energy has introduced the Konarc, a new electric scooter aimed at making EV ownership more practical for a wider set of Indian riders. Built on Ather’s new EL platform, the Konarc focuses on the basics that matter every day, range, comfort, durability, and easier ownership, while bringing in new technology.
The Konarc will be offered across the S and Z lines, with six variants in total. The S range offers four battery-range options, while the Z range gets two.
Ather has put considerable focus on ride comfort and stability. The Konarc gets a long 1,352mm wheelbase, 14-inch front and 12-inch rear wheels, long-travel suspension and a steel unibody chassis with metal rear panels.
The scooter also introduces AeBS, which uses software and sensors to adjust braking between the front and rear wheels depending on conditions. Regenerative braking is also used to improve braking performance and stability.
The Konarc brings several new convenience features designed around everyday scooter use. MagicKey enables keyless access, while AutoPop opens the seat remotely and AirWalk provides motor assistance when pushing the scooter manually.
The Konarc represents a different direction for Ather. Rather than simply adding more performance or features, the company has focused on reducing the everyday compromises associated with EV ownership. Longer service intervals, easier charging and stronger battery coverage all target concerns that can hold buyers back from switching to electric.

The Konarc could be an important scooter for Ather because it takes the brand’s technology and engineering and puts them into a more accessible package. With up to 200km of claimed range, simpler ownership and genuinely useful new features, the Konarc looks designed less to impress on paper and more to convince everyday riders to make the switch to electric.
