Bentley Motors has revealed a unique, one-off Continental GT Speed with a special paint finish called Ombre by Mulliner. This new paint technique, created by Bentley’s bespoke division Mulliner, features a smooth, hand-painted fade between two colors along the length of the car. The Ombre effect is now available to order in three different color combinations.

How the Ombre Paint is Made

Bentley’s Dream Factory in Crewe, England, is where the Ombre paint is applied. First, the car is sprayed with two contrasting colors at the front and rear. Then, two paint technicians spend about 56 hours carefully blending the colors by hand to create a perfect fade. Because each paint color behaves differently, the technicians must adjust their technique for every car, making each Ombre Bentley unique.

First Car Showcased at Monterey Car Week

The first car to feature the Ombre paint is a Continental GT Speed, shown at The Quail during Monterey Car Week. Its exterior fades from Topaz at the front to Windsor Blue at the rear, with the fade following the car’s lines. Even the 22-inch wheels match the body color—Topaz in front, Windsor Blue at the back.

Matching Interior Design

Inside, the Ombre theme continues. The front seats, steering wheel, and dashboard are finished in Topaz leather, fading to a dark Beluga color at the rear. Dragonfly blue accents highlight the piping and stitching. The cabin also features satin Beluga painted veneers, Bentley’s Rotating Display, a top-end Naim audio system, and dark chrome trim.

After its debut as a personal commission, the Ombre paint fade is now available for order on new Bentleys through Mulliner’s global retailer network.
