BMW Motorrad has unveiled the new F 450 RR, a lightweight supersport motorcycle developed for winding roads and racetrack use. Based on the F 450 platform, the new model brings the brand’s RR styling and sport-focused engineering to the 48hp category, targeting A2 licence holders and riders looking for an accessible supersport bike.
The F 450 RR takes design inspiration from the larger S 1000 RR, with a nose-down stance, winglets, asymmetrical fairing panels and LED lighting.
Power comes from a 420cc, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine producing 48hp at 8,750rpm and 43Nm of torque at 6,750rpm. The engine features a 135-degree crankpin offset and a balance shaft for distinctive power delivery and reduced vibration.
Key specifications include:
The motorcycle uses a tubular steel frame, a 43mm KYB upside-down front fork and an aluminium rear swingarm. Braking is handled by a 310mm front disc with a Brembo four-piston caliper and a 240mm rear disc.
Standard rider aids include:
BMW will offer the F 450 RR in four versions: Base, Sport, M Sport and M Sport with Innovation Package. The Sport and M Sport variants add Shift Assistant Pro and sport suspension, while M Sport also gets Riding Modes Pro. The top-spec Innovation Package adds the optional Easy Ride Clutch, which automatically manages clutch engagement.
The BMW F 450 RR combines a 48hp engine with a 177kg kerb-ready weight, supersport ergonomics and electronic rider aids. Its focus on lightweight handling and accessible performance positions it as an entry point into BMW Motorrad’s RR range. The announcement did not include pricing or market-specific availability.
