BMW India has opened pre-orders for the first-ever BMW M2 xDrive Turbo Edition, a limited-run model paying tribute to the iconic 1973 BMW 2002 Turbo. Finished in Alpine White with signature Motorsport detailing, the special edition combines BMW’s turbocharged heritage with modern M performance.
The model will be available in strictly limited numbers through authorised BMW India dealerships, on a first-come, first-served basis.
The exterior features several design elements inspired by the original 2002 Turbo.
The cabin continues the motorsport theme with M Carbon bucket seats, an M Alcantara steering wheel, carbon-fibre interior trim and an exclusive ‘turbo’ badge on the centre cupholder cover.
Power comes from a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder engine producing 480 hp.
Key performance figures:
Introduced in 1973, the BMW 2002 Turbo produced 170 hp and could exceed 200 km/h. It was a pioneer of turbocharging in series-production passenger cars, helping establish a performance legacy that continues with BMW’s modern M models.
