BRABUS Reveals the 1,000 HP BODO, a Wild Tribute to Founder Bodo Buschmann

BRABUS has officially unveiled one of its most extreme creations yet, the all-new BRABUS BODO, and this is not just another tuned Mercedes.

The BODO is a completely original coach-built supercar created as a tribute to Bodo Buschmann, the man who founded BRABUS back in 1977.

Only 77 Cars Will Exist

BRABUS will build just 77 examples worldwide, a number chosen to reflect the company’s founding year.

The BODO made its world debut at Fuori Concorso on the shores of Lake Como, and honestly, it looks absolutely insane.

Carbon Fibre Body and Massive Road Presence

The BODO gets a fully carbon fibre body and measures:

  • 16.6 feet long
  • 6.6 feet wide

The design feels aggressive from every angle.

Highlights include:

  • Huge front grille
  • Slim LED headlights
  • Massive air intakes
  • Boat-tail-inspired rear section
  • Active rear wing
  • Giant rear diffuser
  • Stacked titanium exhausts

It rides on 21-inch BRABUS Monoblock forged wheels paired with specially developed Continental Sport Contact 7 tyres.

Surprisingly Traditional Luxury Inside

Inside, BRABUS has focused heavily on handcrafted luxury instead of futuristic minimalism.

The cabin gets:

  • Black leather upholstery
  • Carbon fibre trim
  • Custom BRABUS stitching patterns
  • Embroidered seat graphics
  • Bespoke metal entry plates

The company says the seats were designed to balance:

  • Long-distance comfort
  • Strong lateral support

making the BODO a proper grand tourer rather than a hardcore stripped-out supercar.

BRABUS also added some very over-the-top extras, including:

  • Matching leather-wrapped keys
  • Custom Weekender travel bag
  • Blockchain-based digital ownership passport

1,000 HP V12 Power

Power comes from a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 engine producing

  • 1,000 hp
  • Around 1,200 Nm torque

Power goes to the Rear wheels through an 8-speed automatic gearbox with an electronic locking differential.

Performance Is Brutal

BRABUS claims the BODO can do:

  • 0-100 km/h in 3.0 seconds
  • 0-200 km/h in 8.5 seconds

before hitting an electronically limited top speed of around 359 km/h.

Final Take

The BRABUS BODO feels like BRABUS creating the ultimate tribute to its founder, loud, dramatic, massively overpowered and impossible to ignore. Between the handcrafted interior, outrageous V12 performance and ultra-limited production, this might become one of the wildest collector cars BRABUS has ever created.
