Harley-Davidson conducts its first riding academy session in Mumbai.

Mumbai– The Harley-Davidson Riding Academy has been designed to establish rider training programs for Harley-Davidson dealerships across markets.  The program aims at improving customer’s skill levels to confidently operate a large capacity motorcycle. The program is aimed at both new riders and existing riders. The first Riding Academy session was held in Mumbai on December 14th, 2019 in partnership with Autocar.

HDRA is a global program that has been designed basis many decades of understanding riding behavior. For India we have 4 expert coaches who have been trained by Master Coach Mike Loydall who has over three decades of experience in this field.  The first Riding Academy session was conducted at CIDCO exhibition center, Navi Mumbai and was attended by a group of 30 students. The training modules included lessons on theory of Motorcycle Controls, Controlled Braking, and Slow Speed Control among others as well as a variety of drills that were repeated multiple times.These sessions will be replicated in all the Harley-Davidson dealerships in the country over the next few months.

Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Sajeev Rajasekharan, Managing Director, Harley-Davidson India, said, “As market leaders in the large capacity motorcycle segment, we consider it our responsibility to promote a culture of safe riding. With this initiative, Harley-Davidson India hopes to create a large pool of skilled riders who are confident on their motorcycles. We are excited that this opportunity is now in India and riders who previously didn’t, will now get a platform to be trained under expert coaches.”
