Lab1886 and Daimler sponsoring the new.New Festival

Stuttgart – Lab1886, the innovation laboratory of Daimler AG, is organising the “Lab1886 Design Challenge” (www.lab1886.com/lab1886-design-challenge/) as part of this year’s new.New Festival. During the three-day Challenge, the task of the participants is to use design sprint methods to turn an idea into a marketable business model or product involving aspects such as the blockchain, artificial intelligence or machine learning. In the process they will be professionally coached by Lab1886 experts. The new.New Festival is the largest innovation event in southern Germany, and will take place from 8 to 10 October 2018 in Stuttgart’s Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle. The motto for the Festival is “Intelligence X.0”. The central topics are Cryptographic Trust, Beyond Reality and Machine Intelligence.

Interested students can apply by 9 September 2018 at challenge@lab1886.io. Whether by text or video – the applicants should make a convincing case with creativity and innovative spirit. “Our aim with the Challenge is to give young people an insight into Daimler’s innovation management relating to the mobility of the future. At the same time it is an opportunity for us to present Lab1886 as an interesting and innovative employer,” says Susanne Hahn, Head of Lab1886 Global.

At the end of the application phase, ten students and ten trainees from the Daimler-INspire programme will be invited to take part in the Challenge. The Lab1886 Truck will stand in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle as a stage for the Lab1886 Design Challenge. The Truck will act as a mobile workplace for the participants in the Challenge. On the first day, ideas will be jointly developed with the candidates. Day two is devoted to validation, and on the third day the concepts will be presented as a pitch.
