Driving the Future: Mitsubishi Fuso and Hino Unite with Toyota and Daimler for a Greener Tomorrow

Daimler Truck AG, Mitsubishi Fuso, Hino Motors, and Toyota have officially signed an agreement to merge Mitsubishi Fuso and Hino. This marks a major move towards reshaping the future of commercial vehicles, backed by some of the biggest names in the industry.

More details — including the name of the new holding company — will be announced in the coming months. The partnership will be finalized once it receives approval from boards, shareholders, and authorities.

This collaboration aims to create smarter, more efficient vehicles and address challenges such as reducing pollution and improving logistics.

By integrating Mitsubishi Fuso and Hino, the companies aim to increase efficiency in areas like development, sourcing, and production. This move is expected to boost the global competitiveness of Japanese commercial vehicle manufacturers and strengthen the overall auto industry in Japan and Asia.

The new holding company will also focus on clean and smart mobility solutions. It will support global efforts toward CO₂ neutrality and improve delivery and logistics systems. A major focus will be on CASE technologies — Connected, Autonomous, Shared, and Electric — including hydrogen-powered vehicles, to build a sustainable and successful mobility future.
