Harley-Davidson’s 8th Western H.O.G rally takes over Jaisalmer

December 14th, 2019: Popularly known as H.O.G®, Harley Owners Group is the world’s original social network with over a million members worldwide. For India, the Big 5 Rallies are a much awaited and exciting part of the H.O.G® (Harley Owners Group) calendar. It begins with the national rally (India H.O.G® Rally ) in Goa, followed by four zonal rallies. Each Zonal Rally is uniquely curated and hosted by a local chapter of the Harley-Davidson network, elected on the basis of performance under the ‘Chapter of the Year’ contest umbrella. This year’s Big 5 Rallies closed with the 8th edition of the Western H.O.G® rally in Sam Sand Dunes, Jaisalmer on December 6th and 7th – celebrations that saw over 800 participants from all over the country.

Speaking on the successful completion of the last of the Big 5 Rallies of 2019, Mr. Sajeev Rajasekharan, Managing Director, Harley-Davidson India, said, “The annual H.O.G®. rallies’ are a unique platform that celebrates the brand and our 7000-members strong H-D family in the country. The Western H.O.G®. rally gave us yet another opportunity to engage directly with the Harley riders from the Western chapters of H-D in India. Our customers are at the core of every initiative we put together and the inordinate feedback we received here was truly inspiring.”

Hosted over the weekend, the event was led by Nine Bridges Harley-Davidson. In true Harley spirit, it saw various activities including custom competitions, music performances and adventure sports.  Ride routes were customized to include local sights such as the Longewala Checkpost, Tanot Mata Mandir and the Jaisalmer Fort. Adventure seekers got their shot of adrenalin by indulging in paragliding, dune bashing, camel safaris and ATV rides. To top it all, the rally that culminated at the dunes for a mesmerizing sun downer followed by a glorious evening of music and entertainment.

Harley-Davidson bikes are known to lend themselves to exciting customizations. The brand recognized the most interesting takes on bespoke motorcycles in the Western H.O.G® rally community through an award ceremony. Vinay Singh Rajput from the Nine Bridges Chapter received the honors for the best custom motorcycle for his creation – the RaSkull.
