Ford India Opens Technical Training Centre In Chennai

This 18,000 Sq.ft facility is located inside Ford's Chengalpattu Assembly & Engine plant

The Ford Indis has opened a new state-of-the-art technical facility and skill development centre in Chennai. By opening this new technical training facility, Ford plans to enlarge and strengthen its after sales department. It is the fourth facility run by Ford in the country to give training for technicians from its dealership with future technologies and skills.

The new facility is located inside Ford’s Chennai Vehicle Assembly & Engine Plant in Chengalpattu, which spread over 18,000 Sq.ft. This new TTC can accommodate 1500 more technicians, taking the total number of trained technicians to 2500 per year. The Chennai facility comprises of six classrooms, which will provide knowledge sessions to their employees regarding Ford’s current and forthcoming technologies and products. The centre also includes other features like specialized body shop/paint repair booth, accident repair area and high quality Connected Studio to facilitate online training for 200 dealer technicians across the country.
Alongside its own Technical Training Center, Ford also partners with Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) to offer exclusive Motor Mechanic Vehicle (MMV) curriculum to students. Till now, Ford has launched ASSET (Automotive Student Service Educational Training) centres across 14 cities in India – including Kochi, Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, Mohali, Chennai, Sonepat, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Kolkata Cuttack, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, and Bhopal.

Other enhanced facilities include; Service Price Promise – which is an online price calculator on the Ford website which allows the customer to know the cost of periodic maintenance or parts even before booking the servicce, Sub Assembly Levels for Repairs – The Sub Assembly Levels for Repairs across Ford product portfolio enables substantial saving in the ownership costs by breaking up an auto part into sub-components, 24X7 Roadside Assistance and Customer Care.
