Fourth coming Mercedes Benz GLB suv, with more of a boxy design.

Electric model EQ-B is also considered to debut soon.

It is seen that Mercedes Benz is nowadays more focused on expanding their model lineup, this time the new incarnation is the GLB suv, the name that we haven’t heard before. From the spy shots, the design resembles more of a boxy design. The car might slot between the GLA and GLC.

The newly boxy shape incorporates more roomier interior and a significant increase in boot capacity. Though the interior equipment is more likely to have the same elements as seen in the newly A and B class, for instance, the dual digital screen layout, air vents,multi-function steering wheel and so on.

The engine and transmission might taken from the other compact Mercedes siblings, most probably have the 7G-DCT with a four-wheel drive system. Some recently showcased camouflaged models didn’t have an exhaust system, which points towards the testing of a fully electric model, so the model EQ-B is no longer.

Recently the Motor1.com reported that “If a recent report is to be believed, the new EQ B will adopt an updated electric driveline adapted from the forthcoming EQ A small five-door hatchback. Power is going to come from two electric motors, one mounted on each axle, which presumably will give it an all-wheel-drive arrangement. A battery pack with a capacity of at least 60 kWh will provide enough juice for a maximum range of roughly 310 miles (500 kilometers)”. However the launch of electric derivative might dated to some point in 2020.
