The sixth-generation 2026 Toyota RAV4 has officially made its global debut. Instead of a complete redesign, Toyota has given the popular SUV a major refresh — with sharper styling, better technology, improved performance, and an all-electric powertrain lineup.

The new RAV4 keeps its bold and rugged look but now features angular LED headlights, a body-colored grille, and new C-shaped taillights across the rear. It still has its classic trapezoidal wheel arches but adds new design elements depending on the variant. Buyers can now choose from Core, Sport, and Rugged styles, plus sportier GR Sport and adventurous Woodland trims.

From all the Trims GR Sport stands out with a rally-style rear wing, aggressive front design, and performance-inspired features. Woodland variant is aimed at off-road lovers, offering all-terrain tyres, extra lights, and higher ground clearance.

Inside, the 2026 RAV4 feels more high-tech, with fewer physical buttons and a sleeker digital layout. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster comes standard, along with a 10.5-inch or 12.9-inch touchscreen, depending on the trim. These screens support Toyota’s new Arene software, which improves speed, connectivity, and adds the latest Toyota Safety Sense 4.0 features.

The center console has been redesigned for more storage and offers a toggle-style gear shifter on select models. An optional nine-speaker JBL sound system adds premium audio to the mix. Interior materials include fabric, SofTex, and even Ultrasuede, with the GR Sport trim getting unique upholstery and aluminum pedals.

The biggest change is that the new RAV4 will only come with electrified powertrains, either hybrid or plug-in hybrid. The RAV4 Hybrid now produces up to 236 hp with all-wheel drive. It is an increase of 17 hp from the previous model.

The RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) offers a powerful 320 hp, an all-electric range of 50 miles (80 km), and supports DC fast charging on select trims (like XSE and Woodland). Both use a 2.5 L four-cylinder engine, upgraded battery packs, and better control systems.
