Someone in the world can look forward to quite a lavish gift for Valentine’s Day. According to McLaren, “an incurable romantic” commissioned this custom red 570S Spider and specified delivery on February 14.
The droptop McLaren 570S Spider features a ruby shade of Vermillion Red exterior paint from the McLaren Elite color palette. There are also red brake calipers and a matching stripe around the Pirelli P Zero tires. Inside, there’s a mix of Apex Red and Jet Black Nappa leather upholstery, plus Carbon Black Alcantara trim. For an extra flourish of color, the steering wheel features more Apex Red leather, and the seatbelts are Indian Red. Carbon fiber adorns the doors, center tunnel, and door sills.
This custom 570S has a few other custom touches that aren’t red. For example, the roof is Dark Palladium gray rather than the body color, and there’s a special carbon fiber tonneau cover that comes from the MSO Defined range. The exterior also wears extra carbon fiber trim on the door inserts, front splitter, parts of the rear deck lid, back bumper, and rear spoiler.
This car is mechanically stock with a 3.8-liter biturbo V8. It can get the roadster to 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) in 3.1 seconds and to a top speed of 196 mph (315 kph) even with the top down.
Let’s hope the buyer’s partner has a special present ready for Valentine’s Day. Imagine the embarrassment of exchanging gifts during a romantic dinner, receiving the keys to a custom McLaren, and only having a box of chocolates to give to your sweetheart.
