HERO Electric unveils the third chapter of Super Sikh Run

New Delhi, November 28, 2018: HERO Electric, leaders in the Indian Electric two- wheeler industry, unveiled the third chapter of Super Sikh Run in an event at the capital. The event witnessed coming together of Real People with Real Stories.

They choose and aim to bring in more e-vehicles on road to bring out a wave of change in the Indian market.
Over the years Super Sikh Run has successfully managed to carry out Half Marathons which has had two very successful editions in Delhi in year 2016 and 2017. To reignite the spirit of the Half Marathon and provide an insight, Hero Electric organised a promo run for the upcoming Super Sikh run.

Hero Electric the lead sponsor of Super Sikh Run organised a Press Conference on November 28, 2018 at Hotel Claridges as a curtain raiser for the event, to mark the essence of the run. A 3 Km SSR Promo Run with ‘Cyclofit PRO Riders and Runners’ for Clean Air was also initiated at the Pitampura outlet of Hero Electric to mark the beginning of the upcoming Super Sikh Run.

The third edition of Super Sikh Run – a marathon prearranged for all participants beyond the feeble barriers of caste, creed, religion, sex, race and the challenges thrown by life, is a run for humanity. The half marathon to be held on December 9 from New Delhi’s RakabGanj Gurudwara, will be led by the Super Squad – group of extraordinary men and women who have paid back life in its very same coins. Such as Major DP Singh – an ex-army man who lost almost half of his body to a mortar explosion during combat at the LOC and now India’s First Blade Runner or Capt. Shalini Singh – Mrs. India Queen of Substance 2017 and Ms. Jinnie Gogia Chugh – Gold medalist at Commonwealth power lifting Championship 2017 and one of India’s Top 5 women fitness professionals. In its initiative, Hero electric brings out all such real stories of real heroes along with many more.

A new initiative added this year is #SAHAS, a significant and bold decision and which is introduced as a new race category sponsored by Mediva, a Hero Eco group company which provides medical rehabilitation and mobility aids. SAHAS will be like lighting a candle of hope, in honour and in celebration of the indomitable human spirit. This race will be under 3 categories: Wheelchair: Prosthetic leg / blade / crutches and visually impaired athletes.

Shivom Munjal has been closely working with the disabled to raise funds and it was his initiative that a new category was included called “#SAHAS” for this year’s marathon.

With a global following, this run is loved by people from all over the world for what it stands. ‘ONE RACE HUMAN RACE’ and is marked in the calendar of runners for the quality of organizing which makes it at par to any international running event.
The event also witnessed the presence of Major DP Singh, India’s first blade runner and Kargil War Veteran; Captain Shalini Singh an Ex-Army officer, wife of a Martyred officer and Classic Mrs India Queen of Substance 2017; and Jinnie Gogia Chugh an International Athlete, 5 Gold Medal Winner at recently concluded Commonwealth Power Championship at Potchefstroom, South Africa.

Major D.P. Singh, Kargil war veteran and India’s first blade runner shared, “I am thrilled to be a participant of the Super Sikh Run. Not only this run will spread awareness for helping the community but as an avid runner I am happy that it will also promote benefits of running. I look forward to the Super Sikh Run”.

The Half Marathon promises to draw runners from every background from all over India to run for a cause at the same time provide a professional running event for the Rural athletes to participate and compete in.
