Hero’s commuters got big-The new Maestro Edge and Pleasure+

After the launch of the XPulse 200, XPulse 200T & Xtreme 200S, Hero has launched two new scooters. Hero seems to be on a launching spree and have finally launched the much anticipated Maestro Edge 125 and the 2019 Pleasure+. The Maestro Edge 125 is the first scooter in India to come equipped with fuel injection. It comes in three variants – FI (Rs 62,700), i3S Disc (Rs 60,000) and i3S Drum (Rs 58,500). The Pleasure plus will be coming in two variants – Std (Rs 47,300) and Cast Wheel (Rs 49,300). The Maestro Edge 125 was first showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo and will be the company’s flagship scooter. The 2019 Hero Pleasure gets some visual changes like new colors and graphics along with a more powerful engine. It sports a fresh retro front with a dual texture seat. The Maestro Edge will go up against the TVS Ntorq 125, Suzuki Access 125 and Honda Grazia, whereas the Pleasure+ goes up against the Honda Activa i and TVS Wego.

Hero Maestro Edge

Powertrain – The Maestro Edge 125 gets a 124.6 cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke, single cylinder OHC engine that makes 8.7 bhp and 10.2 Nm of torque. The FI version produces a larger output of 9.1 bhp. Being India’s first scooter to come equipped with fuel injection, it will allow it to run much cleaner and abide by the upcoming BS6 norms. The Hero Maestro Edge 125 shares its underpinnings with the Destini 125, but it is a little bit sportier and feature-packed. The engine is mated to a variomatic drive gearbox. Taking care of the suspension duties are telescopic forks in the front and single coil spring hydraulic type at the rear. There are 130 mm drum brakes at the front and rear and an option for a 190 mm disc at the front. The FI gets a 190 mm disc at the front with no option of a drum. The Maestro Edge gets a 12-inch tyre at the front and a 10-inch tyre at the rear. The fuel tank capacity for the Maestro Edge is 5.5 litres, whereas for the FI variant it gets a 5 litre fuel tank.

Features – The new Hero Maestro Edge 125 comes with new colour options and styling elements. The new Hero Maestro Edge 125 comes with a host of new features that include new split taillamps, addition of a FI engine, external fuel cap, Digi-Analouge instrument console, multi-functional key, mobile charging port, i3S tech, telescopic forks, alloy wheels with disc brakes. 

Stylization – The carb variant of the 2019 Maestro Edge 125 is available in four colour options — Matt Blue, Matt Red, Matt Brown and Matt Vernier Grey. On the contrary, Maestro Edge 125 FI version gets two colour combinations — Pearl White with Brown inner panel & Astro Gold front forks and Panther Black with a sporty Red inner panel. 

Hero Pleasure+

Powertrain – The 2019 Hero Pleasure Plus draws power from a new, more powerful 110 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that is tuned for 8 bhp and 8.7 Nm of peak torque. The motor is paired with a CVT unit. The new powerful engine replaces the 102 cc motor of Hero Pleasure that was seen on the predecessor. The updated scooter continues to use spring loaded shocks at either end that help keep costs low. Braking performance too comes from the 130 mm drum brakes at the front and rear with Integrated Braking System (IBS) offered as standard. It has a 4.8-litre fuel tank.

Features and Stylization – The 2019 Pleasure Plus gets a host of cosmetic updates. It gets features like a USB charger, LED boot lamp, Integrated Braking System and a new black-lit speedometer. The Sheet Metal Wheel variant of the 2019 Hero Pleasure+ 110 is available in four colours — Glossy Black, Glossy Blue, Glossy White and Glossy Red. The Cast Wheel variant of the scooter comes in three paint options — Matt Red, Matt Green and Matt Vernier Grey.
