The Hi-Tech Robotics Systemz showcases all-new safe-driving technology – Novus Pilot
The Hi-Tech Robotic Systemz Limited – which designs and develops technology for autonomous and driver-assistive systems – today showcased an all-new technology, Novus Pilot, at The Auto Expo 2018, India Expo Mart, Greater Noida in the latest Mahindra trucks and buses. Part of the latest features in Mahindra’s trucks and buses, the technology provides audible collision warning for all road users, including two-wheelers, four-wheelers, pedestrians, etc.
A multi-camera system trained specifically on Indian roads, Novus Pilot is a one-of-its-kind technology that works successfully in Indian driving conditions. Backed by patents in multiple geographies and the ‘Safety Technology of the Year 2017’ award, the product creates an intelligent environment around the vehicle like a safety cocoon. It is capable of functioning in various traffic scenarios and can classify different categories of road users.
Currently it is showcased as a warning system in Mahindra & Mahindra trucks and school buses but it’s a scalable for multiple levels of autonomy, eg: Automated Emergency Braking, Cruise Control and Highway Autopilot. The system is capable to comprehend in the dynamic traffic scenarios and driving behaviors on Indian roads and hence is more robust then any other such ADAS systems available in the west. Besides providing a real-time warning to the driver, Novus Pilot helps large-fleet customers have effective driver profiling and driver behavior evaluation, improving overall safety.
