Honda Cars India Ltd. registers 8,412 units of domestic sales in December 2019 amidst BS4 runout

New Delhi, 2 January 2020: Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL), leading manufacturer of premium cars in India, registered monthly domestic sales of 8,412 units in December 2019, whereas the number of export units stood at 197 last month.

Commenting on the sales, Mr. Rajesh Goel, Senior Vice President and Director – Sales and Marketing, Honda Cars India Ltd said, “Our volumes in December 2019 have been on expected lines. In order to avoid any leftover BS4 stocks, we channelised our resources more towards liquidating them. In line with the plan, our BS4 dispatches are finished now so that our dealers can smoothly transition into BS6 regime in the coming months.”The company had sold 13,139 units in domestic market in December 2018.


The company’s product range includes Honda Jazz, Honda Amaze, Honda WR-V, Honda BR-V, Honda City, Honda Civic and Honda CR-V, which are manufactured in India. The Accord Hybrid is sold as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) imported from Thailand. Honda’s models are strongly associated with advanced design and technology, apart from their established qualities of durability, reliability and fuel-efficiency. The company has a strong sales and distribution network with 378 facilities in 266 cities across spread across the country.
