Honda rider Rajiv Sethu creates new record, leads National Championship with 2 wins in Round 2

Mohamed Mukail wins hearts in Honda India Talent Hunt

Honda riders have set a commanding lead in the 2018 Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship. Rajiv Sethu won in the SuperSport 165 class while Anish Shetty finished 2nd in Pro Stock 165 class.

 Super Sport 165 class 

IDEMITSU Honda Ten10 Racing’s Rajiv Sethu dominated the 8-lap race with a thumping win in the SuperSport 165 class. Rajiv finished the race in 15:37.026 minutes after an exciting mid-race battle. Familiarizing himself with new slick tyres, Rajiv created a new fastest lap time record (1:55.392 minute) for the 2nd time this weekend. Sarath Kumar rounded up the podium with a timing of 15:57.911 minutes.

 Pro Stock 165 class

Honda riders leads the Pro Stock 165 class championship standing with Anish Shetty leading the charge. Anish finished 2nd in the incident marred race with a timing of 17:03.115 minutes while Senthil Kumar came 3rd, finishing the race in 17:07.286 minutes.

 IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup

 CBR 250R class

Continuing with the winning streak, Anish Shetty won the Honda India Talent Cup – CBR 250R class with a timing of 16:48.671 minutes. The second-place finisher Abhishek V had an intense battle with Amit Topno. Abhishek finished 3rd in 16:49.460 minute and Amit getting his 2nd podium of the weekend in 16:49.692 minutes.

 CBR 150R class

Nurtured in the Honda India Talent Hunt, Mohamed Mukail worked his magic and registered his second win. Continuing with his strong performance, he built a healthy lead over the competiton and secured the 1st position in the podium with a timing of 13:23.224 minutes. Mukail shattered his own record of fastest lap with a new timing of 2:11.557 minute. Kartik Vasan Habib (13:34.011 minutes) and Akshay V Murali (13:47.298 minutes) came 2nd and 3rdrespectively.

 Speaking on the performance of Honda riders, Mr. Prabhu Nagaraj, Vice President, Brand & Communication, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “This has been a hugely successful weekend for Honda riders. The challenging spirit of Rajiv and Anish promises a strong performance in Round 4 of Asia Round Racing Championship next month. In the Honda India Talent Cup, Mukail’s blockbuster performance stands out. He will be going back to the academy to further hone his skills and come back even stronger. We will continue with our search for new riders by taking the talent hunt to more cities.

 Round 3 of national championship will take place in August 10-12, 2018 at Madras Motor Race Track in Chennai.
