Honda won’t launch Africa Twin Manual Variant in India

Honda India officially launched Africa Twin in May at Rs. 13.06 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). The Africa Twin available in India was DCT model. YS Guleria, Senior Vice President – Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India confirmed that manual variant of Africa Twin is not coming to India. Before launch, Honda was planning to launch both models but the competition is already strong and hence they want to make Africa Twin unique so they decided to go with DCT instead of manual.

The DCT transmission does make Africa Twin effortless to ride in city, highway and off-road conditions as the rider can focus on road rather than manually selecting gears and clutch. Honda Africa Twin is powered by 999.11 cc twin cylinder engine producing 87.1 BHP of power and 91.9 NM of torque. This engine is mated to 6 speed DCT gearbox with option of Sport mode with three options. Honda also offers traction control and ABS on both wheels with rear wheel can be turned off.
