Hyundai Bayon to Launch in India on October 26, 2026

Hyundai Motor India has unveiled the India-spec Bayon, positioning it as an intelligent utility vehicle with a strong focus on artificial intelligence, connectivity, and digital technology. Bookings are now open for ₹11,000, ahead of its launch on October 26, 2026.

AI Grabs Attention

The Bayon introduces Hyundai’s first generative AI voice assistant in India, combining Intelligence by Perplexity with voice technology from SoundHound AI. It is designed to handle conversational requests, helping occupants plan road trips, check weather, find hotels and restaurants, and access other information.

Key technology highlights:

  • NVIDIA-accelerated Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC)
  • Dual 12.3-inch curved panoramic displays
  • Over-the-air updates for up to 19 vehicle controllers
  • Hyundai Bluelink with more than 70 connected features
  • Over 500 embedded voice commands in six language options, including Hinglish
  • Interface support for 10 regional and two international languages

The system also offers online navigation, split-screen functionality, personalised controls and smartphone and smartwatch connectivity.

Familiar Petrol Power

Power comes from Hyundai’s 1.5-litre, four-cylinder MPi petrol engine, producing 115PS and 144Nm. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual gearbox and an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT).

What to Expect

The Bayon’s technology-focused approach aims to make everyday driving more intuitive, with software updates allowing features to evolve after purchase. However, Hyundai has not yet announced its pricing or full variant-wise equipment details.

Key details:

  • Launch: October 26, 2026
  • Bookings: Open for ₹11,000
  • Powertrain: 1.5-litre petrol
  • Gearbox options: Six-speed manual and IVT
  • Deliveries: Scheduled to begin during the festive season, according to the press release

Final Take

The Hyundai Bayon puts connected technology and AI at the centre of its proposition. Its voice assistant, dual-screen cockpit and OTA update capability could set it apart, but its pricing and overall package will determine how competitive it is in India. With the launch approaching, the focus now shifts to what Hyundai will offer at each price point.
