Hyundai India developed an all new petrol engine which is codenamed as AH2 for an upcoming small hatchback. This new engine’s production commenced at Hyundai plant in Chennai. Team-BHP published an image of employees standing beside this new engine at its plant. Now Hyundai started road testing of this new engine in the upcoming hatchback which is the replacement model for discontinued i10.
The specification and power figures are not yet revealed and this engine is also the first unit to get an AMT transmission which was confirmed by Hyundai earlier this year. The first test mule of new generation Santro was also spotted earlier this week. But the company is yet to finalise name but media reports suggest that it will be Santro name as the brand is very popular in India. We can expect more details to be revealed at Auto Expo 2018 and launch could take place by the middle of 2018.
