Jaguar XE SV Project 8 sets Nurburgring Sedan Lap Record

The Jaguar XE SV Project 8 is now the world’s fastest four-door sedan of production-intent specification following a record lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Designed, engineered and hand assembled by Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division, a production-intent prototype Jaguar XE SV Project 8 achieved an incredible time of just 7 minutes, 21.23 seconds around the famed “Green Hell.”

The new record is 11 seconds quicker than the previous time set by a sedan of production-intent specification around the 12.9-mile circuit; putting the 592hp Jaguar ahead of some of the world’s fastest two-door coupes and exotic cars. Jaguar XE SV Project 8 is capable of 0-60mph in 3.3sec and a top speed of 200mph. The XE SV Project 8 is limited to just 300 units around the world and costs $187,5004.
