Jeep Compass 85th Anniversary Edition Launched, Priced at ₹26.70 Lakh

Jeep has launched the Compass 85th Anniversary Edition in India to celebrate 85 years of the brand. Based on the higher-spec Model S (O), the special edition is priced from ₹26.70 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be limited to just 85 units.

What’s new on the Compass 85th Anniversary Edition?

The special edition gets a few styling and equipment upgrades over the standard Compass.

  • ‘85’ decals on the doors, tailgate and wheel hub caps
  • Gloss-black 18-inch alloy wheels
  • All-black cabin with Mayan Gold accents
  • Black leatherette seats with gold stitching
  • Gold-coloured ambient lighting
  • Illuminated elements around the panoramic sunroof

The 85th Anniversary AXS accessory pack is also available, adding a digital inside rear-view mirror, front and rear dashcams and illuminated panoramic sunroof elements. Jeep has not announced its price yet.

Same diesel powertrain

Under the bonnet, the Compass Anniversary Edition continues with the familiar 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 170hp and 350Nm.

It can be paired with:

  • 6-speed manual gearbox
  • 9-speed automatic gearbox
  • FWD and 4WD options

The automatic version is the only one available with four-wheel drive.

Feature-loaded cabin

Since the Anniversary Edition is based on the Model S (O), it gets equipment such as powered and ventilated front seats, driver-seat memory, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a 9-speaker Alpine audio system, dual-zone climate control and wireless phone charging.

Final Take

The Compass 85th Anniversary Edition doesn’t bring any mechanical changes, but its limited production and exclusive detailing give it some extra appeal. At the same price as the Model S (O), Jeep is essentially adding a bit more exclusivity without asking buyers to pay a premium.

With only 85 examples available, the special edition is likely to appeal most to buyers looking for a more distinctive Compass rather than outright additional performance.
