Jaguar Land Rover introduced new 2.0 L Ingenium series petrol engine in India with Velar last week. Even though JLR already offer 2.0 L turbo petrol engine in India, the current engine is outdated and it was developed during JLR was under Ford. The new 2.0 L Ingenium series engine is completely developed by JLR and this engine produces 25% more power and 15% more efficient than outgoing engine.
JLR confirmed to Autocar that they will replace current engines with new 2.0 L Ingenium series. This new engine is available in three power outputs – 200 HP, 250 HP and 300 HP. The XE will get base 200 HP engine while XF will get 250 HP. The Discovery Sport and Evoque will also get this engine on 250 HP output replacing current 240 HP 2.0 L unit. Jaguar will introduce 300 HP output engine on F-Type. But the company hasn’t confirmed exact date of engine roll out.
