KTM Unveils 1390 Super Duke RR Track: A Track-Only Hyper Naked

KTM has introduced the KTM 1390 Super Duke RR Track, a new version of its flagship naked bike built purely for track use.

This is not a road-legal motorcycle. It is designed specifically for racing environments, with a clear focus on performance, weight reduction, and track-ready components.

What It Is

The 1390 Super Duke RR Track is essentially a more focused version of the already extreme Super Duke RR.

  • Track-only motorcycle with no road-legal components
  • Built to FIM racetrack regulations
  • Hand-built at KTM’s Austria facility
  • 23 kg lighter than the standard Super Duke R

The idea is simple: remove everything unnecessary and build a machine purely for lap times.

Built for the Track

KTM has stripped the bike down to its essentials.

  • Extensive use of carbon fibre
  • Removal of unnecessary panels and components
  • Focus on weight reduction and agility

The result is a motorcycle that prioritises performance over comfort, with no compromise on its purpose.

Chassis and Suspension

The bike gets high-end components developed for racing.

  • WP APEX PRO front forks with race-derived technology
  • WP APEX PRO rear shock with full adjustability
  • Frame redesigned to remove extra mounting points

These upgrades are aimed at improving feedback, grip, and overall control on track.

Wheels, Tyres and Brakes

The setup here is fully track-focused.

  • Forged magnesium wheels, lighter than standard
  • Michelin Power Performance slick tyres
  • Brembo braking system with race-spec components

This combination is designed to maximise grip and braking performance.

Engine and Performance

The bike uses KTM’s LC8 V-twin engine.

  • 193 hp at 10,000 rpm
  • Up to 199 hp with ram-air
  • 151 Nm of torque

The focus remains on delivering strong acceleration and performance across the rev range.

Technology and Features

Unlike most modern bikes, KTM has kept electronics simple.

  • 4.2-inch TFT display
  • Minimal rider aids and data
  • Focus on essential information only

This approach keeps the rider more connected to the machine.

Exhaust and Extras

  • Akrapovič Evolution exhaust system as standard
  • Race air filter and updated engine mapping
  • Optional KTM PowerParts and riding gear available

These additions further improve performance and track usability.

Conclusion

The KTM 1390 Super Duke RR Track is built with a clear purpose.

It removes road usability completely and focuses only on track performance. For riders who want a dedicated track machine, this is as focused as it gets.
