FCA Recalls Their Vehicles In USA For Cruise Control Update

Cruise control system has gone haywire for around 4.8M vehicles in the country

Due to “unlikely sequence of events” FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) is being forced to recall around 4.8 million vehicles in the United States of America with a cruise control failure. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has advised the customers to not to use the ‘Cruise Control’ feature unless the makers had sorted it out.

According to the press release statement, a short circuit in the system might have disabled the working of cruise control. In such a scenario, the driver cannot deactivate cruise control manually or by braking. As it is on cruise control, the vehicle always tries to accelerate whenever the driver applies the brake. However, it is much easier to shift the gearbox to neutral position and braking the vehicle to make it stop. Afterall, no related injuries or accidents have been recorded in the States with this technical issue.

Following are the list of vehicles that FCA has recalled for the Crusie Control update:

2015-2017 Chrysler 200
