Maruti Suzuki launched their Nexa premium MPV, the XL6 based on Ertiga

Maruti Suzuki refreshed its premium segment while adding a new MPV to the fleet, The XL 6. The car is purely based on the Ertiga MPV, which was launched earlier this year.

The new XL6 has a distict appearence from its counterpart, the Ertiga. However, both the cars shares the same platform.The XL6 is more of a premium MPV .Unlike Ertiga, the XL6 comes only with a hybrid petrol engine.

The newly designed aggressive front grille which incorporates the Quad Led headlamps makes the front fascia looks more like a SUV stance.Secondly, upon sides the black cladding on wheel arches which extends to the front bumper gives a distinct appearance compared to the Ertiga.

The XL6 is powered by BS6 compliant K15 petrol engine with Progressive Smart Hybrid technology with Li-ion battery.The K15 engine offers exceptional peak power of 77KW@6000rpm and maximum torque of 138Nm@4400rpm and is tuned to deliver a drive, both within and beyond the city’s parameters. The XL6 will be available in a 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission options.

Based on Suzuki’s 5th Generation HEARTECT platform, the all-new XL6 is compliant with all Indian safety regulations like Frontal offset impact, side impact and pedestrian protection.

It is equipped with a host of safety features such as dual front airbags, ABS (Anti-lock-Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake force Distribution), front seat belts with Pre-tensioners and Force Limiters, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, high speed warning alert, reverse parking sensors as a standard fitment across all variants. ESP (electronic stability program) with Hill Hold function is offered as a standard feature in automatic variants only, enhancing all-around safety for the occupants.
