Maruti Suzuki’s new Brezza secures 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating ahead of launch

Maruti Suzuki has announced that the new Brezza has received a 5-star safety rating under the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP) ahead of its market launch. The compact SUV earned the top score for both Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and Child Occupant Protection (COP), making it the company’s fifth model to achieve a five-star Bharat NCAP rating.

The updated Brezza was launched on July 24, 2026, and comes equipped with an expanded suite of active and passive safety features.

Fifth Maruti Suzuki model with a 5-star rating

With the Brezza, Maruti Suzuki now has five models that have secured a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating.

The lineup includes:

  • Brezza
  • Dzire
  • Victoris
  • Invicto
  • e Vitara

According to the company, the latest certification reinforces its focus on improving vehicle safety across its portfolio.

Enhanced safety package

The new Brezza comes with several advanced driver assistance and occupant protection features as standard.

Safety highlights include:

  • Six airbags as standard across all variants
  • Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with Hill Hold Assist
  • Blind Spot Warning with Lane Change Alert
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert
  • Safe Exit Warning
  • Emergency Stop Signal
  • Front parking sensors
  • Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
  • 360-degree camera
  • ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)
  • ISOFIX child seat anchorages
  • Rear parking camera
  • Rear parking sensors
  • Rear wiper and defogger

The SUV also features a strengthened body structure with extensive use of ultra-high-tensile and high-tensile steel to improve crash protection.

Safety across the range

Maruti Suzuki says it now offers six airbags as standard across 16 models and more than 160 variants. According to the company, over 1.6 million customers benefited from vehicles equipped with six airbags during FY2025-26.

The automaker added that it remains committed to making advanced safety features more accessible across its entire lineup, from entry-level hatchbacks to SUVs.
