Mercedes-Benz India Launches Limited-Edition GLE and GLS ‘Night Edition’ SUVs

Mercedes-Benz India has launched the new GLE Night Edition and GLS Night Edition in India as part of a limited global series focused on exclusivity and bespoke styling.

The company says India has now become one of Mercedes-Benz’s top global markets for both the:

  • Mercedes-Benz GLE
  • Mercedes-Benz GLS

making these two SUVs among the brand’s biggest success stories in the country.

Blacked-Out Styling and Exclusive Colours

Both Night Edition models feature a darker and sportier design theme with:

  • Blacked-out exterior elements
  • Exclusive Night Edition styling
  • Bespoke interior finishes

Mercedes-Benz is offering the SUVs in Alpine Grey and Obsidian Black, with Alpine Grey being exclusive to the Night Edition lineup and unavailable on regular GLE or GLS models.

Premium Interior Upgrades

Inside, both SUVs get:

  • Black Nappa leather upholstery
  • Anthracite open-pore oak wood trim
  • Head-Up Display

The Mercedes-Benz GLE Night Edition also gets AIRMATIC suspension as an added upgrade over the standard GLE.

Engine Options and Performance

The Night Edition range will be available with multiple engine options, including:

  • GLE 300d
  • GLE 450
  • GLS 450
  • GLS 450d

The most powerful GLS 450 variant produces:

  • 375 hp
  • 500 Nm torque

while the GLS 450d diesel delivers 750 Nm torque.

Prices in India

Mercedes-Benz has priced the Night Edition lineup at:

  • GLE 300d Night Edition – Rs 1.05 crore
  • GLE 450 Night Edition – Rs 1.14 crore
  • GLS 450 Night Edition – Rs 1.41 crore
  • GLS 450d Night Edition – Rs 1.43 crore

(all prices ex-showroom).

Final Take

The new Night Edition models add a much more aggressive and exclusive character to the already popular Mercedes-Benz GLE and Mercedes-Benz GLS. Mercedes-Benz is clearly targeting buyers who want their luxury SUVs to feel more personalised and visually distinct, especially in a segment where exclusivity has become just as important as performance and comfort.
