Mercedes-Benz India has introduced the EQS 580 4MATIC ‘Celebration Edition’; a special version of the luxury electric sedan. This edition celebrates the rising popularity of electric vehicles (EVs) in India and the growing success of the company’s EQS range.
Known for its advanced technology like the large MBUX Hyperscreen, luxurious interiors, and amazing long range, the EQS remains a leader in luxury EVs segment. The ‘Celebration Edition’ focuses on making the rear seat experience even more comfortable, spacious, and luxurious for passengers.

Along with the launch, Mercedes-Benz also opened a new luxury showroom in Chennai; the ‘Atelier Experience’ by Sundaram Motors in Adyar. This marks Sundaram Motors’ 11th facility across Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, offering customers a personalized and immersive buying experience. Customers can customize their dream cars through the exclusive MANUFAKTUR program, with expert consultants guiding them.
The boutique showroom is located in a premium area of Chennai, easily accessible to luxury car buyers. Spanning 3,800 sq. ft., it’s designed to flexibly display various Mercedes sub-brands like Maybach, AMG, G-Class, and more, with digital customization features for a modern, interactive experience.

Mr. Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, along with Mr. Sharath Vijayaraghavan, Executive Director of Sundaram Motors, inaugurated the facility. Mr. Vijayaraghavan expressed pride in the long-standing 25-year partnership between Sundaram Motors and Mercedes-Benz, highlighting their shared legacy of over 100 years in the automotive world.
This expansion reflects Mercedes-Benz India’s ‘go to customer’ strategy — focusing on delivering customized, luxury experiences while also growing into emerging markets. The company plans to open 30 new or upgraded luxury outlets across India in 2025, with 19 of them opening within the next 5 months, ensuring wider access to personalized luxury for its growing customer base.
