India’s largest luxury car brand Mercedes-Benz, today announced a historic sales record achievement by clocking the highest ever yearly, half-yearly and also Q4 sales in 2017. By registering record sale of 15,330 units in the January to December 2017 period, Mercedes-Benz grew its sales volumes by a robust 15.9%, firmly maintaining its strong hold on the dynamic Indian luxury car industry.
The luxury sedan segment grew by double-digit growth and the introduction of the Long Wheelbase E-Class significantly contributed to the volumes, making the ‘Made in India’ E-Class the first choice of customers in 2017. The GLC, GLE and GLS continue to retain the tag of the highest selling SUV in their respective categories, and contributed strongly to the SUV segment.
The SUV segment from Mercedes-Benz also grew by double digit in 2017. The performance and sports-car brand, Mercedes-AMG achieved double-digit growth in 2017, reiterating Mercedes-Benz’s strong dominance in the performance car segment. Additionally, the New Generation Cars continued its success story with a high conquest rate, ensuring Mercedes-Benz remained the most preferred choice for the dynamic, affluent and young Indians.
