New Skoda Slavia Production Begins Ahead Of Festive Season

Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has commenced production of the new Slavia at its Chakan plant in Pune, ahead of the upcoming festive season. The updated sedan brings revisions to its design, technology, comfort, and safety package.

Since its launch, the Slavia has clocked nearly 80,000 units in India and currently holds around 30% of its segment, according to Skoda.

New Transmission And More Technology

The updated Slavia retains its 5-star Global NCAP safety credentials while gaining several new features.

The biggest mechanical change is the introduction of an eight-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox with the 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine. Skoda has also added several new convenience and technology features, including:

• Rear Seat Massage function, claimed to be a segment-first
• 360-degree Area View camera
• Next-generation infotainment system
• AI Companion powered by Google Cloud

The company says the updated model continues to focus on driving dynamics, practicality, and safety.

Made In India For India And The World

Production of the new Slavia further highlights SAVWIPL’s manufacturing capabilities in India. Its two manufacturing facilities have a combined annual capacity of 3.15 lakh vehicles.

The company crossed the 2-million locally produced vehicle milestone in 2025 and has exported more than 7.25 lakh vehicles to over 40 countries under its “Made in India for India and the World” approach.

The group’s locally built portfolio currently includes the Slavia, Kushaq, Kylaq, Volkswagen Virtus, and Taigun, which have collectively crossed 600,000 units.
