Renault Duster Gets 5-Star Bharat NCAP Safety Rating

The Renault Duster has received a 5-star safety rating in the latest Bharat NCAP crash tests, marking a strong result for the SUV in India.

The tests were conducted in 2026 across multiple variants, including Evolution, Techno, and Iconic.

Strong Scores Across the Board

The Duster delivered high scores in both key safety categories:

  • Adult Occupant Protection (AOP): 30.49 out of 32
  • Child Occupant Protection (COP): 45 out of 49

These scores helped it secure the full 5-star rating under Bharat NCAP.

Crash Test Performance

The SUV performed well across different crash scenarios.

  • Frontal offset test: 14.49 out of 16
  • Side impact test: 16 out of 16
  • Side pole impact: Rated OK

This indicates strong protection for passengers in both front and side collisions.

Safety Features

The Duster comes with several safety features as standard:

  • Front airbags
  • Side curtain airbags
  • Side chest airbags
  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
  • Seat belt reminders

Some features, like knee airbags, are not offered.

Child Safety

The Duster also scored well in child protection.

  • ISOFIX mounts available on rear outboard seats
  • Support for i-Size child seats
  • High scores in dynamic child safety tests

However, ISOFIX is not available in all seating positions.

Conclusion

With strong scores in both adult and child protection, it offers a well-rounded safety package for buyers.
