Rhino 5536- India’s first ingeniously developed electric truck.

In the era of electrification, new innovations and starts up on Electric vehicles is a progressive thing. The Gurugram based group Infraprime Logistics Technologies (IPLT) has come up with the first of its kind innovation called the ‘RHINO 5536’ electric truck in India.

The RHINO 5536 has taken the tractor body and trailer unit from the Tata LPT series truck. The truck is fitted with an electric motor which is capable of producing around 480bhp and is powered by a 276kWh Li-ion battery with an estimated range of 400 kms without haulage load.Moreover, the company claimed that the truck is capable of doing 90 km/Hr

The truck has a GVW of 60 tonnes, and can be easily overcome steep inclines with the use of its electric powertrain’s adequate torque. The IPLT is also in the research on developing their 160 Kw fast chargers, with the use of these chargers the truck can be fully charged in 90 minutes.

The running cost of RHINO 5536 is around 10 Rs/Km, which is considerably low compared to the 30 Rs/Km on conventional diesel trucks.The company is setting up a plant in Faridabad, which is expected to start its production by January 2020.

The pricing, dealership and maintenance facilities are not officially revealed by the company. It is expected that the initial products will be delivered and maintained directly by the company guidance and might be only avail for some selected fleet owners.
