Royal Enfield HunterHood Brings Kochi’s Street Culture to Life

Royal Enfield’s HunterHood street culture platform made its Kochi debut on August 8, bringing together music, art, skateboarding, urban sports and creative expression.

The sixth edition of HunterHood followed events in Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Shillong and Lucknow, with Kochi becoming the latest city to host the celebration.

A celebration beyond motorcycles

Inspired by the Hunter 350, HunterHood brings together communities that shape India’s street culture. Artists, musicians, dancers, skaters, designers and other creators came together to create a festival built around the city’s own identity.

Ahead of the main event, Royal Enfield also hosted a HunterHood Community Pre-Jam on August 7 with Loop Skatepark, bringing together local skaters and street culture communities.

What happened at HunterHood Kochi?

  • Music: Performances by Tribe Mama MaryKali, Ranj x Clifr, GABRI, MC Couper, Baby Jean and Dabzee formed the main-stage lineup.
  • Community Stage: Rapper Ameekha Liyana Ansar, DJ Dsco Patrol, We Are The Boom and Chenda Melam brought together contemporary and traditional sounds.
  • Skateboarding: Fly Squad Skateboarding Community and Kovalam Skate Club showcased Kochi’s growing skate scene.
  • Art: Live graffiti and installations by HH Art Spaces, Alan Pappy, Trespassers, SquidWorks, Karthik Venugopal, Samriddhi Arora and Om Chopra added to the festival’s visual identity.
  • Street sports: Visitors could take part in skimboarding, football, cricket, basketball and graffiti workshops.
  • Custom motorcycles: Builds from XLNC Customs, JD Customs, Garuda Machina, Kunwar Customs and Eimor Customs showcased different interpretations of motorcycle design.

Kochi through a different lens

One of the standout installations was an immersive light tunnel inspired by Kochi. Moving lights, muffled Malayalam conversations and iconic cinema dialogues recreated the sights and sounds of riding through the city.

A ten-day mural project by Kerala-based collective Trespassers also culminated in a large-scale artwork inspired by Kochi’s streets, youth culture, riding and the HunterHood experience.

Final Take

HunterHood is becoming more than a motorcycle event for Royal Enfield. By bringing together music, art, skating, sport and custom motorcycles, the platform taps into the wider culture surrounding the Hunter 350.

For its Kochi debut, the brand kept that focus firmly local, giving the city’s artists and communities a major part in shaping the experience.
