Mercedes EQ Silver Arrow Concept; A Classic Modern Racer

Mercedes Homage to the successful record-breaking W 125 car.

At Pebble Beach in California, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the Vision EQ Silver Arrow show car during Monterey Car Week, held from 18 to 26 August 2018. The one-seater vehicle is an homage to the successful record-breaking W 125 car from 1937. The paintwork in alubeam silver is reminiscent of the historic Silver Arrows which, for weight reasons, did not have a white paint layer. The interior is dominated by traditional, high-quality materials such as genuine leather, polished aluminium and solid walnut. The digital cockpit, meanwhile, points directly into the future: it includes a curved panoramic screen with back projection, as well as a touchscreen integrated into the steering wheel..

Mercedes claims the EQ Silver Arrow  738 horsepower (550 kilowatts) and the thin rechargeable battery under-body of capacity  80-kilowatt-hour. Mercedes not to disappoint the auto enthusiasts for the electric motor not having the sound like combustion engine, The driver inside is given with the choice to hear a current Formula 1 car or a Mercedes-AMG V8.

The EQ Silver Arrow has just room for single occupant, and the person sits in the center of the vehicle. surrounding the driver with smoothly styled body in carbon fiber that looks capable of slipping through the air with ease. The rear features an active spoiler that can extend when necessary.

The driver of the Vision EQ Silver Arrow is encompassed by a large panoramic screen on which a 3D image of the surroundings is projected from behind.
